Is Steve Finnan our most under-rated player?

fizz%20%282%29.jpg

An article on Sportingo caught my attention today when it named Steve Finnan as one of the most under-rated players currently plying their trade in the Premier League. I was pleased to note that someone else (interestingly not a Red) had noticed the hard work and effort of the Irish full-back and it got my brain cells a-whirring: is Finnan the most under-rated player currently at Liverpool?

He’s never splashed over the front (or sadly back) pages of the newspapers and seems to enjoy a practically non-existent media profile. I’m not even sure what his voice sounds like, such is the improbability that he will be interviewed after a match. Instead the consistently brilliant defender (warning cliché coming) let’s his football do the talking.

And so I open it up to all Pies readers – is Finnan our number one unsung hero or can you think of another player more under-valued? And by unsung I don’t mean Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres or Jamie Carragher - they seem to be getting their fair share of credit.

Finally! I've harped on about this one for seasons unknown, and yes, he is our most under-rated player by a long way.

Every match he plays he puts in an at least solid performance, if not better, he defends like mad and also gives the opposition problems when we go forward.

Definitely a great shout.
