Forget rumours, forget whisperings. What do Liverpool really need?

If Liverpool had signed every player they've been linked to so far in this transfer window we'd all be watching an entirely new starting XI run out against Aston Villa on Monday.

In today's Daily Telegraph alone we were linked with Athletic Bilbao duo Fernando Amorebieta and Javi Martinez, while it was even suggested we could resurrect our interest in Gabriel Heinze.

We've been linked to strikers, midfielders, certainly defenders, and perhaps even goalkeepers. And it's come to my attention that the stories we've posted about potential targets have all sparked raging debate about the areas of the team we need to strengthen and the players whose days in red are numbered.

So what position does Rafa need to address? Does Torres need a world-class partner? Would a wizard of the wing represent money better spent? Is extra defensive cover required? Please leave your comments after voting.

I'm sorry, but Crouchy and Kuyt (Voronin doesn't count because he is currently invisible) aren't even close to being the striker partner that Torres needs. We need somebody that is dripping with class and pace.

I voted for a Left winger. My thinking is that we obviously need more attacking threats than just Torres and Stevie. I'd love to have a new striker and a winger but if I had to chose one, I'd opt for a new Left Winger (or a versatile winger in the mould of a Simao, Quaresma, Robben) and utilise Babel as a second/back up striker. I think he'd pose more of a goal scoring threat in a more central role.

New owners for starters, they are a disgrace!

Liverpool will never get the players they "need" with G & H at the helm, they have no idea.

Offload: Crouch, Kuyt, Voronin, Riise, Finnan, Hyypia, Benayoun, Kewell, Aurelio, Sissoko.

Bring in: Huntelaar, Quaresma, David Silva, Fabio, De Silvestri (bossman), Dos Santos and Opare
