The Xabi Alonso rumours continue to circulate

It would seem that the rumours linking our Xabi to Barcelona just won't go away. The Mail has reported this morning, that Barca are lining up a move believed to be worth in excess of £13,000,000.

Whilst the January window was open, the Xabi rumour floodgate opened, especially as his form slipped following his return from a metatarsal injury. Those rumours then stopped, but have again resurfaced.

It is intriguing timing, especially with both Lucas and Mascherano having done so well in their holding midfield roles against Inter on Tuesday. We'll see what happens with this as the weeks go by, but the longer the stories linger, the more truth they tend to contain.

Watch out later in the day for Sam's editorial slant on Xabi's plight - it should make for intriguing reading!

Should be a good little sum of money for the 2nd striker kitty...

I've long been a fan of a swap deal for Ronaldinho... Both players have seen their roles down graded to bench warmers for both of their clubs...
We could use another big name to sell some more shirts as Barca has more than enough stars not to miss Ronnie...
I reckon Xabi would fit in well at Barca as his ability to pick a pass from deep would be beautiful concidering Henry and Eto would be the recipients...
Surely Rafa would find it easier to convince his bosses that Ronnie would add significant value to us... Would Barca swap? We would then see how much they really want Xabi...
