Vote: Who was Man of Match against Arsenal?

Dirk Kuyt is simply not everyone's cup of tea.

I for one have been particularly vociferous in my criticism of the Dutchman in the past. 'He works hard,' as everyone seems to say. 'Big deal, so would I if I played for Liverpool,' has always been my response.

But one thing you cannot deny is that he never seems fazed by an occasion and, as a result, he can score on the big stage.

Perhaps it is born from his tireless work ethic. In his mind it doesn't matter if he's playing Accrington or Arsenal - if he works as hard as he can then he'll get his reward in the end. Fate has dished them out kindly.

Anyway, last night was one of those occasions and again the Dutchman answered his critics. No, he'll never score 20 goals a season, but he proved his worth last night, and for that reason he is hands down my man of the match.
