Wenger cannot be seen to be giving up on the title

Arsenal have no chance of winning the title but Arsene Wenger isn't in a position to appear as though he has accepted it - and that could be an advantage to Rafael Benitez and Liverpool.

Now before all Gunners fans rain their hatred upon me, let me explain my reason for thinking your title challenge is as dead as ours.

The gap between Wenger's side and leaders Manchester United currently stands at six points, with six games remaining.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson's side have dropped just four league points in 2008 and - as much as it sickens me to say it - they are not going to suddenly capitulate now. Not with the strength and depth Ferguson has at his disposal.

Now here's where the advantage comes in. If Benitez fiddles dramatically with his team tomorrow and the experiment fails, then the majority of Liverpool supporters will shrug their shoulders and begin the eager anticipation of Tuesday's Champions League second leg. After all, we accepted defeat in the title race months back.

If Wenger opts to rest key players on the other hand the Emirates faithful will be seething. "Why is he taking risks when we can still win the league?" That will be the question on the lips of every Arsenal optimist.

So, if Wenger does what he has to, we can expect to see the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Cesc Fabregas, William Gallas and Alexander Hleb in action tomorrow. I'm not so sure they will be up against Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Dirk Kuyt though.

Both Wenger and Benitez are known to be keen believers in the 'survival of the fittest' mantra. If both men are correct then Liverpool will certainly be the team to benefit on Tuesday.

You make some valid points. Man Poo will need to slip up badly if they are to lose the title.

Another way to look at Saturdays game is that the winner will be going into Tuesdays game with momentum and confidence.

Let's hope Liverpool can play a bit more positive than last game, for the sake of both fans.
