Player of the Season Poll: Number 6 is...

Jamie 'Carradona' Carragher

The Verdict:
With Daniel Agger ruled out for the season, Carra resumed his partnership with old defensive partner Sami Hyypia for the first part of the season, before forming a solid unit with Martin Skrtel upon the Slovakian's arrival at Anfield in January. Also performed admirably at right back when asked to at various times in the campaign. Although not his best season since Rafa Benitez's arrival, Carra, as has become the norm, gave nothing less than 100 percent as he helped the club to the brink of a third Champions League final in four years.

Highlight: Has to be entering the field to a guard of honour in the FA Cup match with Luton at Anfield upon reaching the historic milestone of 500 games for Liverpool. Also, two commanding performances to help Liverpool past much-fancied Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Lowlight: Consistently good as always but disappointment of 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford in the league and Champions League exit to Chelsea will have hurt vice-captain King Carra.

Grade: B
