Deal or no deal?

I'm sure it's not just me but are you, all our fellow Kopites and Pie-ites getting a little weary of this whole Gareth Barry situation?

Rafa obviously wants the guy. But he's not willing, or maybe able, to pay what Villa want for him which is alleged to be £18million. I personally don't think he's worth the sort of money Martin O'Neill wants for him, but when you consider that United paid around the same amount for England internationals Owen Hargreaves and Michael Carrick, do you think Rafa should just put an end to the whole episode and pay the money (if he can) or alternatively say no deal?

With Villa unlikely to reduce their demands, do you think it's time we end our pursuit of him and move on to other targets? Let us know below.

How about a fourth possibility:

"Should Liverpool help him buy out the last year of his contract next summer?"

I think you need to check your facts...

Players can buy out the last year of their contract but he won't go to The Bindippers. The can only go to a club in a different league. Spain,Italy, even Scotland but not England.

I've been saying from the start of this saga that anything over 13 mil is too much, god the guy is 28 what would we get out of him? 3 years max and he's at the age injurys start to show. Nah forget him.
