Does Pennant have a future at Anfield?

It's been said about a thousand times already this summer - Liverpool desperately need to bring in some widemen. Even Reds boss Rafa Benitez admitted that the wide areas of the team were in need of attention before the end of the transfer window.

Hence, he brought in two attack-minded full-backs in the shape of Philipp Degen and Andrea Dossena, which suggested the emphasis for getting down the wings could fall upon the pacy new recruits' shoulders.

Rafa has continually been linked with a whole host of names this summer including Ricardo Quaresma of FC Porto, Albert Riera of Espanyol and David Bentley of Blackburn Rovers. Meanwhile, one wide player who has been linked with a move away from Anfield recently, insists a move away is not on his agenda. Jermaine Pennant, who has looked lively in his three pre-season outings so far, said: "I'm not thinking about leaving at all."

But will it be his decision? Is he good enough for Liverpool? Has he delivered enough in his two seasons at the club? And finally do you think Rafa will let him go if a suitable bid comes in?

Personally i would keep Pennant, lets face it at the minute ,i would rather have him on the right wing than Kuyt ,at least he can go past people and pick a man out.Where as Kuyt just huffs and puffs and runs around like a headless chicken.
Although it baffles me why on earth Rafa has never really bought a top draw right winger as we have needed one since before he ever came to the club. Instead of bringing in players that are no better than the ones they are replacing at twice the money we have sold them at.

keep pennant for bench and sign another right wing, kuyt is a striker and doesn't have the technique for right wing. pennant has proved plenty of times that he is capable of performing well, he just needs consistency. everyone who are just saying 'he's shite' clearly know very little about football.

No Pennant is the most one footed footballer since the Neville twins. He is not the answer but for those calling for either Quaremsa or Joaquim grow up muppets football is real not played on one CM Manager.

keep Pennant for (just in case) we must buy joaquin. The best bet for liverpool.fast furious and deadly, he will not only creat chances but make the oppositions mark him which will leave Toress some space to score goals.
Please buy Joaquin he is cheap at this stage and sure to reach top.TOP TOP QUALITY

Just like Crouch, Pennant is not fully utilise by Benitez. As a Winger, he is definitely a better Option than Kuyt and with Babel still unable to adapt the pace of English Football, he and Benayoun should be the regular for the winger role for Liverpool..

I would like to keep Pennant as I feel that he does offer us something as a squad player. However I think if we must sell him to raise funds for David silva then so be it...Silva is available at around £16m and would be a great signing for the club as he can happily play on the left, right or down the middle and as well as having the ability to beat players and provide good width, he is a very clever player that can unlock a defenses with he's def touches, turns and passes. He is also a good team player and doesn't shirk his defensive responsibilities.
