Debate: Now the season is over who do you think will be heading for the exit?

alonso_reina_jumping.jpg

Who will leave Liverpool this summer? It's an intriguing question. One, in fact, which seems more on people's minds than those names who may be coming in.

Just after Christmas, during the awful Wigan, West Ham, Luton spell (you won't need reminding) we asked you who you would like to see fall victim of Rafael Benitez's axe. Bar Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres it seemed no-one was safe, a Melwood chainsaw massacre was seemingly what the fans wanted.

But has that now changed?

I suppose there are two layers to this debate. Who you want to leave (John Arne Riise, Andriy Voronin, Charles Itandje), and who you think will leave (Harry Kewell, Peter Crouch, Jermaine Pennant).

In fact, there is a third layer - Xabi Alonso. Will he or won't he be at Anfield next season? Does he want to leave? Or is Rafa simply hoping he will? Again, every fan seems to have a different take.

So, what's your view? Who's staying and who's going?

Torres and Gerrard named in Premier League team of the season; El Nino loses out to Ronaldo in battle for Player of the Year

torres_blackburn_h.jpg

Liverpool stars Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres have been named in the Premier League team of the season.

The Reds captain and superstar striker joined the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas and ex-Liverpool keeper David James in the all-star XI.

Torres was also thought to be in with an outside chance of winning the PFA Player of the Year award after his sensational first season in English football. However, Ronaldo, the overwhelming favourite, took the crown for the second successive season. Next year Nando, next year.

There was joy for one of Torres' international team-mates though as Fabregas walked away with the Young Player of the Year trophy.

The team in full:

Boro boy to be Rafa's new Stevie G?

cattermole_lee_eng.jpg

The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed the growing speculation linking Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez with a summer move for Middlesbrough midfielder Lee Cattermole.

The 20-year-old has already won international honours with England at Under-21 level but reports suggest he could be available for as little as £3million.

It's not the first time a young English midfielder has been rumoured to have caught Benitez's eye - the Spaniard is believed to be a big admirer of Manchester City's Michael Johnson. However, Thaksin Shinawatra's billions mean the Eastlands club are in no need to sell and will most likely slap a ridiculous price tag on their prize starlet.

With his bargain price tag, and the 'the next Steven Gerrard' label already doing the rounds, Cattermole certainly seems a suitable alternative.

Would you want him though?

I have to be honest, I've not seen a great deal of the lad. What I have though, I like.

Will Saturday offer Peter Crouch the chance to save his Anfield career?

73754539.jpg

Regardless of rumours of contract talks and whatnot, I for one fully expect Peter Crouch to be strutting his lanky stuff somewhere else next season.

With first-team opportunities as rare as an Everton trophy, even if Rafa wanted to keep Peter beyond the summer, I can't see the big man accepting another year of bit-part football. If, as many expect, Rafa's going to bring in another striker as a potential replacement for Voronin or, even, Dirk Kuyt, you can be sure it will be another man with pace and power to fit into the 4-2-3-1 Rafa seems to have finally settled upon. And that could well be the final straw for Crouchy.

Benitez eyes three summer signings, but who is he talking about?

80350698.jpg

It takes something special to dominate pre-derby banter, and Sunday saw exactly that.

With news breaking that Rafa has secured his first summer signing already, a long list of names was thrown around in build-up to the showdown with Everton.

"We have agreements with two young players and one senior player who will be a starting XI player. That deal is already done," Benitez is quoted saying just about everywhere, including here at the Offal.

So, just who is Benitez talking about?
