As today is St Patrick's Day we thought we'd raise a Guiness to all the Irishman who have left behind the green of home to don the red of Liverpool Football Club.
We've got a lot to thank the Irish for too. The likes of John Aldridge, Mark Lawrenson, Ray Houghton, Steve Finnan and legendary pre-war goalkeeper Elisha Scott all arrived at Anfield via the Irish sea.
For me top dog has to be Aldo. His record of 63 strikes in 103 appearances for Liverpool is one of the best goals to games ratios of any player in the club's history.
His best performances came in the 1987-88 season when he scored in every one of the first nine games. He finished the campaign with 26 goals in 36 outings as Liverpool marched to the league title.
And although Aldridge had a FA Cup final penalty saved as Wimbledon deprived Liverpool of the double, he did pick up a winners medal the following May, scoring in a memorable 3-2 win over Everton.
That alone is reason enough to name him Liverpool's all-time greatest Irishman.
But who do YOU think is Liverpool's best ever Irish import? Vote now and use the comment button to explain your reasons.

Welcome to the Liverpool Pies Fourth Place Predictor.
The concept is fairly simple. Below are all Liverpool's remaining fixtures, as well as Everton's and Aston Villa's, and we've had a go at guessing how the Premier League table will end up reading come May.
We may have been a little optimistic but our original results, which can still be seen below, suggested Liverpool would walk it, with Martin O'Neill's Villa just nudging the Toffees into fifth.
It's been so far so good for Liverpool after we correctly predicted wins over West Ham, Newcastle and Reading, but Villa's draw against Middlesbrough and defeat at Portsmouth means our predictions for the remaining games would now put Everton one point above the Midlanders come the end of the campaign.
To make your predictions all you have to do is copy and paste our answers into a comment box, replace our forecasted results with your own and then do the simple maths. We've even given you each team's respective goal difference just in case that's what it comes down to.
It's only a bit of fun so why not give it a go? If nothing else it could put your mind at rest.
Then again, it could have you crying into your cereal...

This is the third time in a week I've been able to post a poll with a broadening smile upon my face.
Another three goals and another three points makes it five straight wins for Liverpool, with arguably the biggest game of the season to come against Inter Milan on Tuesday night.
Fernando Torres made it 25 goals for the season with the second today after Jermaine Pennant's fluke had put us in front. Not to be outdone Steven Gerrard then made yet another impression on the scoresheet to cap a fine performance.
But who was the pick of the bunch? Vote now and use the comment button to explain your choice.

For the second time in three games Fernando Torres has gone and spoilt this one.
As good as it is having a super striker in red hot form, it's just not fair on the others.
So, here's the deal. While the offal and others are getting thousands upon thousands of votes for El Nino we're just going to pay out from the start, strip him from the poll and leave you to vote for last night's unsung heroes.
Javier Mascherano had the West Ham fans wondering what could have been. Martin Skrtel again looked solid. Jamie Carragher had a lifetimes worth of chances. And, of course, Stevie G did what he does best.
But who was the best player not called Torres? In the words of that Geordie bloke from Big Brother, you decide...

The next 10 days could be the most important in Liverpool's season - and they have started in the best possible way.
Strikes from Ryan Babel and Fabio Aurelio ensured Liverpool took all three points at Bolton this afternoon after goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen's comical own goal had handed the Reds the lead. Tamir Cohen scored a late consolation for the hosts.
It was just what the doctor ordered with back-to-back home games against West Ham and Newcastle, and a trip to the San Siro, all scheduled between now and next Tuesday.
But who was the key man today?
Steven Gerrard ran the show at times, taking the game by the scruff of the neck in a way that has become all so familiar over the years. But then few carried as much of a threat going forward as Babel. The youngster was in fine fettle, expecially in the opening period.
At the back Martin Skrtel produced another commanding performance, while Aurelio bagged the goal of the game.
Xabi Alonso's role inspires confidence that he is on the cusp of returning to form and alongside him Javier Mascherano celebrated his permanent signing with a typically industrious showing.
But it's your choice. Vote now below and use the comment button at the bottom of this post to explain your choice.

The mathematics are simple. Barring an Everton mauling of Portsmouth, victories over Bolton on Sunday and West Ham on Wednesday will see Liverpool go fourth.
Both the Reds and their bitter city rivals could potentially be sitting on 53 points, but Liverpool's better goal difference means it would take a monumental result at Goodison Park to stop them returning to the Champions League places.
Of course that all depends on Rafa Benitez's side getting the back-to-back victories they need. And that brings us to today's question.
On paper fixtures away at Bolton and at home to West Ham don't look the most taxing, but how many points do you think we will come away with?
Use the comment button to predict the score and scorers for both games and let everybody know your thoughts.

In keeping with Pies tradition here is your chance to vote for Liverpool's Man of the Match.
Seems pointless, doesn't it?
The Reds crashed out of the FA Cup to Barnsley and - as much as Rafael Benitez will take the blame - between them 13 players allowed it to happen.
I suppose the question is not who was the best, but who was the least culpable? As ever, please use the comment button to tell us your reasons for voting.
